The Cutout effect portrays an image as though it were made from roughly cut-out pieces of colored paper. High contrast images appear as if in silhouette, while colored images are built up from several layers of colored paper. The Cutout effect is also reminiscent of lino block print making techniques, especially when applied to high contrast original images.
No. of Levels
Move the slider to the right to increase the number of intensity levels in the original image used to create the pieces of card and to the left to decrease the number of levels. The more levels used, the greater the detail in the resulting cutout image.
Edge Simplicity
Move the slider to the right to make the cutout edges simpler, and to the left to make them more complex.
Edge Fidelity
Move the slider to the right to have the cutout edges represent the actual shapes in the image with greater fidelity and to the left for a more distorted representation.
Tips
*Apply the Emboss effect (Classic Art, Volume 1) to create an impression of depth and overlap to the layers of the image created with the Cutout effect.
